Hungry Man Pasta


Often times when I’m preparing a meal I am SUPER hungry. I’m not the best with planning or prepping in advance for meals and this leads to hungry man cooking. When I’m in hungry man cooking mode I have the patience of a toddler. I know I’m not the only one this happens to. Being in this mode often leads people to eating canned foods, microwave dinners or other quickie things that are basically discount bin versions of food. When you eat discount bin versions of food you are likely to start the transition into the discount bin version of yourself. Let’s be real, nobody wants that. We want to be the high end, limited edition version of ourselves. I know, I’m getting a little off topic but I just want y’alls to know that when you put great, high quality whole foods in your bod you can be the radiant, thriving version of yourself. How ideal is that? The most ideal ever I say.

BACK to my original point… my hungry man cooking has lead me to creating this super quick, healthful and delicious dish. I won’t settle for poor quality food and I won’t cook for long either. Yes I will have my cake and eat it too. This dish takes approximately 15 minutes to make and its very easy to make a huge batch and save some for future luncheons to come.

Hungry Man Pasta


  • 1/2 dry brown rice pasta
  • 1 cup kale
  • 2 tbsp hemp hearts and/or pumpkin seeds
  • 1/2 cup simply organic pasta sauce

method of preparation:

Boil the pasta. Remember with brown rice pasta to cook it precisely based on the package instructions. It can quickly become soft/soggy. While the pasta is boiling cook the chicken on a grill (I used my George Foreman grill. Perfect for hungry man times.) When the pasta and chicken are finished mix them together in the original pot after the pasta has been drained of course. Pour the tomato sauce over top and let them heat up.

After they are all together put collard greens in and let them soften slightly. Cook for a short time only so they maintain their nutritional properties. Heat destroys the enzymes, which are the digestive helpers in vegetables. At this point I recommend dishing out your serving. Afterwards place 2 tbsp of hemp hearts into your pasta and mix in. I do this because cooking the hemp hearts will destroy their Omega 6 and Omega 3 fats. They are precious fats that are great for skin, brain and basically every aspect of your health. ENJOY.
