THE Taco Salad
Mexican food is one of the great pleasure in life. Unfortunately it often brings some unhealthful ingredients or cooking methods that aren't great to enjoy on an everyday basis. With that in mind I created this amazing taco salad recipe that is absolutely delicious and will actually contribute to optimal health! I strongly encourage you to try this recipe, you'll be amazed at how delicious it is! (And super easy to make)...
THE Taco Salad
- Neal Brothers tortilla chips
- Neal Brothers organic salsa
- 1lb Lean ground turkey breast
- Simply organic taco spice
- Baby kale (or greens of choice)
- Dollop greek yogurt ( I like vanilla!)
method of preparation:Heat lean ground turkey in a frying pain on low heat until fully cooked. Once cooked add in package of simply organic taco spice and half a cup of water. Simmer on low heat for 5 minutes. Plate your salad in the following order (serves one)
- Salad greens on the bottom – large handful
- Crushed tortillas – 1/2 cup
- Lean ground turkey – 1/2 cup
- Salsa 1/4 cup
- Dollop greek yogurt – 1 or 2 tbsp
Neal Brothers Tortilla Chips: These are my go-to tortilla chips. They have very few ingredients, typically 3-5 and you will be able to pronounce all of the names. This means you are getting a product that is made of REAL food. My favourite flavours are Multigrain and Organic Blue with Flax. Not only are these much tastier than all other tortilla chips, they're also much healthier AND Canadian made!
Baby Kale: I absolutely love baby kale. It packs all the nutritional benefits of kale we’ve come to love without the rough texture. Baby kale is amazing as a base to any salad. It is rich in blood cleansing chlorophyll, fibre, vitamins A, C and K and is loaded with anti-cancer phytonutrients. I do urge you to get on the bandwagon!
